Based on a suggestion from mom’s friend who is from the New York City area, we decided to go to a small beach town called Mystic Connecticut. It was SO cute!
Upon arrival, we noticed a lot of traffic, and struggled to find parking. We eventually found a spot, and ventured toward the water. As soon as we got there, we heard an announcement over an intercom that the annual Vintage Boat Parade was about to begin. How lucky were we! We had no idea that such a unique event would be happening. So we grabbed our beach chairs, and sat down to watch the parade.
After the parade, we walked around the town for a bit. We got ice cream and some candy from the cute little candy shop. We window shopped at the adorable little shops.
Then we checked into our hotel for the night, and had dinner at Red 36. We had their fried brussel sprouts appetizer, which honestly might have been my absolute favorite thing we ate the entire vacation, period. They were seasoned perfectly, and so crispy. We split the lobster roll and seared scallops entrees, which were also very tasty. For dessert we had a creme brûlée. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting this town. We had great service, and every dish was incredible. The view from the patio was also gorgeous.
